Project Summary

The objective of this project is to ensure that undergraduate engineering students develop basic skills in information literacy, by integrating this training at the point that they undertake research for their essays, design projects, case studies and problem-based learning modules. This project will:

  • develop interactive, web-based tutorials and course-related web pages tailored to undergraduate and graduate engineering students;
  • provide one-on-one assistance to engineering students as they undertake literature searches to support specific courses;
  • provide experience for graduate students hired as part of the team in the effective design of web-based tutorials;
  • assess user acceptance of and demand for web-based information by engineering students, and assess the effectiveness of web-based tutorials and course-related web pages as a tool to support new teaching methodologies in engineering education.
