Project Summary | Objective: Develop interactive modules on different statistical topics that can be accessed online and used to supplant/supplement lectures in STAT courses (and in other related courses in UBC and elsewhere). Online interactive practice exams, quizzes and problems will be developed. This will allow students to check their understanding immediately after studying a module and get immediate computers generated feedback on their mistakes and on ways to improve their learning. Rationale: Many statistical concepts, such as computational and graphical statistics, design of experiments, stochastic processes, multivariate techniques, sampling distributions, bootstrap, etc., can be presented and more easily understood from computer demos and dynamic graphics. |
