Project Summary

The objective of this project is to provide undergraduate and graduate engineering students with multi-media simulations that expose them to management-related subjects and help to bridge the gulf between management and engineering. Interactive simulations would allow students to get "hands-on" experience working with management concepts much like a traditional laboratory provides for engineering concepts. Interactive course delivery methods have been shown to increase learning gains by 50% when compared with traditional course delivery methods.

We plan to develop multi-media simulations for the combined Problem-Based Learning (PBL) undergraduate courses and for management-related courses that are part of the Engineering Management sub-specialization offered through the Faculty of Applied Science and the Construction Engineering and Management specialization offered through the Department of Civil Engineering. Initial development will focus on simulations for organizing companies and planning construction projects, which will be available on-line.
