Project Summary

Sauder School of Business is planning the Canaccord Learning Commons (CLC) in the Lam Library. The project entails a space reconfiguration and a suite of programs and services that support curricular objectives at Sauder. The CLC will focus on delivering six (6) modules in the first year including critical thinking, analytical decision making, oral and written and Web 2.0 communications, ethics and sustainability, global perspectives, and subject area knowledge.

The proposed project entails three phases:

  1. Identify and evaluate programs and services in existence through LEAP and the Chapman Commons, IKBLC, which serve the needs of the CLC. The specific requirements will be tied to business school learning outcomes, as per Sauder accreditation requirements.
  2. Prototype design and develop programs and services to meet priorities identified by Ihe CLC Programs and Services Working Group.
  3. Create implement and action research plan to pilot and evaluate these services in the school year 2010/2011.
