| Project Summary | UBC Library, its Chapman Learning Commons, the Office of Learning Technology and various areas within Student Development create and maintain a range of online resources to assist students with research, technology use, and academic skill development. Many of these resources are made accessible via departmental web sites, as well as the LEAP Program portal. These units also offer a significant number of in-person, campus-based workshops to help students develop refine and practice these skills. Their workshop curricula will be leveraged to create a more coordinated and consistent suite of real-time, web-delivered workshops targeted towards commuter and distance education students. Currently, many of these students are not as well served as others because they may not be able to attend events. This project will provide commuter and distance education students with a more supportive campus environment by increasing the number, range and quality of learning opportunities that will help them develop skills they need for academic success. The project will also provide all students with increased flexibility when accessing these highly useful resources. |
