Project Summary | To understand how the Food Science program can best educate students for successful careers in the food industry, the impact of different pedagogical and experiential learning approaches, and a reassessment of learning outcomes are required. To this end we will 1) develop and implement survey tools to solicit information from program alumni and industry and government professionals who hire and supervise program graduates; and 2) apply multivariate data analysis to identify factors related to success of graduates. Students (undergraduate, graduate) will be recruited to carry out survey development, implementation, and data analysis, with the assistance of the applicants and Faculty of Land and Food Systems (LFS) Learning Centre associates. The information will be used by faculty members to modify the curriculum and pedagogical practices to better prepare students to meet the demands of the food industry workplace. and used in future years to monitor and continually improve the Food Science program. |
