Project Summary

Project Management Simulation Game is an online tool that allows students to play a role of the project manager in a realistic project situation and enables them to analyze the project, synthesize project requirements and available resources, and make decisions regarding project execution. Project Management (PM) is an established field and good project management practices are widely available. While the traditional lecture-based methods are valuable, they were shown to be limited in teaching PM practices and knowledge. Simulation games have been shown to be very effective in teaching management skills. The simulation game proposed as an experiential learning tool will enable students to acquire essential PM skills by managing a realistic project in a simulated environment. A Chinese proverb succinctly summarizes the objective of the proposal: "tell me and I will forget, show me and I may remember, involve me and I will understand."
